Bathing

As loved ones get older, it can be increasingly difficult to take care of personal hygiene needs such as bathing. Our trained caregivers know how to approach these situations in the right manner, making it a safe and comfortable experience. They assist seniors safely get in and out of their bathing area and help them get clean in the shower, tub, or basin. Sponge baths are another option in which caregivers help seniors lather up, rinse, and  dry off.

Transferring

A challenging part of caring for seniors involves the act of ‘transferring’, which involves helping them physically move from one place to another. This could involve shifting from a sitting position to lying down, or helping clients stand to promote circulation. Regular transferring helps prevent skin breakdown for seniors that may be in one position for too long.

Fortunately, our caregivers are well trained in the best ways to transfer seniors to keep them safe and injury free. Our team makes sure to use excellent communication and proper body mechanics to avoid injury wherever possible. Techniques like leaning, rocking, and countdowns also help make the process flow smoothly. By following proper transferring methods, Rose’s caregivers help protect the bodies of seniors in many ways.

Dressing
